The best time to visit Mai Chau and Pu Luong is during the cool and dry seasons when the fields are green, the air is clear and the valleys look their best.
From March to May, everything wakes up after winter with bright weather and fresh rice fields.
From September to October, the terraces turn golden and the whole region feels alive with harvest season.
These months are perfect for cycling, trekking, bamboo rafting and swimming in streams. The days are warm, the nights are cool and the scenery is at its most beautiful.
You can still visit outside these months, but the rainy season brings heavier showers and less stable views. For the smoothest and most rewarding experience, you should stick to spring or autumn.
