Day 1: Hanoi to Mai Chau

You start the morning with a pickup in the Old Quarter and ride out of the city into the mountains. The first stop is Thung Khe Pass with white cliffs and a wide valley view that gives you the first real taste of the countryside.

From there the journey continues into Mai Chau where your homestay family welcomes you with a home cooked lunch.

In the afternoon you jump on bicycles and roll through quiet villages, rice fields and little pathways where you can stop anytime for photos.

After the ride you head back to the homestay to relax before a BBQ dinner in the cool evening air.

Day 2: Mai Chau to Pu Luong National Reserve

After breakfast you meet your guide and the easy riders who will take you deep into Pu Luong. The ride passes a small bamboo workshop that supplies materials for local water wheels. You then reach Kho Muong Village and walk into Bat Cave, a beautiful natural cave surrounded by rice terraces.

From here you trek across the highlands through Bang Village and Don Village where Thai and Muong families live in simple homes. Lunch is served in one of these houses.

In the afternoon you reach Cham Stream, a calm and clean stretch of water where you try bamboo rafting and cool off with a swim if the weather is warm. You return to Mai Chau in the late afternoon to rest and enjoy dinner.

Day 3: Waterfalls and lake views

You start the morning with breakfast then ride out toward Tat Nang Waterfall.

In the cold months you stop at the community hot springs for a warm soak. In the warm months you swim at the waterfall or continue to Hoa Binh Lake for a refreshing dip.

The next stop is Go Lao Waterfall, a quiet place with a small pool at the bottom that feels perfect for a morning swim. After that you head to a viewpoint above Hoa Binh Lake for wide open views of the water and rolling hills.

DAY 1: HANOI - MAI CHAU (-/L/D)

8:30 AM – Our driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Old Quarter Hanoi and depart to Mai Chau 

Take a short rest and capture beautiful photos at Thung Khe Pass (also known as Da Trang Pass) in Hoa Binh City then continue the scenic drive to Mai Chau, soaking in the picturesque landscapes along the way

11:30 AM – Arrive at Mai Chau and greet your homestay host family

12:00 PM – Having lunch with Mai Chau specialties delicately prepared by your Host family

In the afternoon, we will hop on bicycles and start cycling through pristine villages, rice fields, and crops. On the way, you can stop at any time to catch beautiful moments of nature or talk to local peoples

Continue riding through to Lac Village where we will visit the Hoa Ban weaving atelier and learn the White Thai traditional weaving, dyeing, and embroidery techniques

5:00 PM – Travel back to the homestay. Enjoy some free time by chilling in the reading corner of the homestay or exploring Mai Chau Market

6:30 PM – Enjoy a BBQ dinner prepared by your host family and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the village

DAY 2: MAI CHAU - PU LUONG NATIONAL RESERVE (B/L/D)

Start the day with a satisfying breakfast at the Homestay and prepare for the day’s activities

Our guide and motorbike easy-rider will greet you at the homestay and begin driving towards Kho Muong village. On the way, we will make a stop at the bamboo stick factory

Arrive at Kho Muong village and explore the beautiful Bat Cave and witness the amazing bamboo water wheels then trek through rice terraces in the highlands of Pu Luong in Bang Village and Don Village

Enjoy lunch at a local homestay with local dishes from the ethnic communities in the area

After a delicious lunch, we will head to Cham Stream. When reaching the stream, you will have a chance to join an unforgettable bamboo rafting experience and if the weather is not too cool, jump in the fresh stream water

Around 4:00 PM, start the journey back to Mai Chau and relax at the homestay before a lovely dinner

DAY 3: TAT NANG WATERFALL AND HOT SPRING TOUR (B/L/-)

Enjoy breakfast at the homestay before departing to Tat Nang Waterfall with our guide and motorbike easy-rider

Take a dip in the natural hot springs run by the local community (during the winter) (for summer, we will enjoy swimming at the waterfall or Hoa Binh Lake)

Then traveling through winding roads to visit Go Lao Waterfall. Here you will have a chance to dip in the refreshing pool at the base of the falls before heading to Sunset Viewpoint for some amazing views of Vietnam’s largest Lake.

12:00 PM – Travel back to the homestay for lunch

3:00 PM – Catch your bus back to Ha Noi 

7:00 PM – Arrive back to your accommodation in Hanoi
